Although Afghanistan has already lost the ODI series against Sri Lanka, the visitors will aim to finish the series on a winning note in SL vs AFG 3rd ODI. The final encounter takes place on Wednesday, February 14 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka has dominated Afghanistan in the SL vs AFG ODI series so far, winning the opening two games by big margins. Sri Lanka’s new ODI skipper Kusal Mendis has done a marvellous job as a skipper. Later, Afghanistan faced a huge batting collapse at the start, losing 5 wickets for just 55 runs on the board. Later, Azmatullah Omarzai (149) and Mohammad Nabi (136) stormed centuries to evade a humiliating defeat in the match. They powered the scoreboard to 339-6 by setting up a 242-run stand for the 6th wicket.

Afghanistan came up with a better bowling show in the 2nd ODI. However, this time, they lost the plot while batting. With half-centuries by four batters, Sri Lanka piled up 308-6 in 1st innings. Charith Asalanka hit an unbeaten 97 runs but missed his century.

Later, Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran (54) and one-down Rahmat Shah (63) smashed fifties to etch a 97-run stand for 2nd wicket. However, Afghanistan faced a huge batting collapse later, with Hashmatullah Shahidi (9), Azmatullah Omarzai (3), Mohammad Nabi (1), and Ikram Alikhil (4) losing their wickets for single digits.

The SL vs AFG 3rd ODI will also take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium like the earlier two games. The previous games were not affected by rain.
