Steve Smith Will Find A Way To Score Big Hundreds – Alex Carey
Earlier, Australia wicketkeeper batter Alex Carey expressed confidence in Steve Smith’s batting prowess, acknowledging his recent dismissals as an opener. He emphasized Smith’s ability to overcome challenges and score big hundreds.
“He has been dismissed twice as an opener now, and he is going to be dismissed a lot more as an opener. He is one of the best batters in the world, and he will find a way to score big hundreds,” said Carey, as quoted by Perth Now.
“He has done it in really difficult situations before. … a big innings is coming up, and, hopefully, it is in the second innings,” he added.
Smith took over the role of opener in Australia’s red-ball cricket after David Warner’s retirement. He faced criticism due to his modest scores of 12, 11*, and six in the first three innings as an opener. He silenced his critics by delivering under pressure in the final innings.
