The defending champions are ready to roar in the upcoming season and they have built a really strong squad for the upcoming season. They made great acquisitions in the auctions by acquiring the likes of Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shradul Thakur. They are ready to defend their IPL title and win it again for the sixth time in IPL history.
CSK is one of the most successful T20 franchises in the world having won the IPL five times in 14 seasons. They were banned for two seasons due to a fixing and betting scandal but returned with a bang in 2018 as they won the IPL trophy that season. The only team that matches Chennai Super Kings in the list of Best T20 franchises is Mumbai Indians who have also won the IPL five times and they did it three seasons before Chennai Super Kings reached their five titles.
Chennai Super Kings won the 2023 IPL, defeating defending champions Gujarat Titans in the finals in a rain-affected encounter in Ahmedabad. MS Dhoni will be leading the Chennai-based franchise again and this might be his last season in the IPL. He announced after the IPL final win last year that he will try to return for one more season for his fans and he is ready to keep his promise and play one more season for Chennai Super Kings where he will be leading the side.
The Chennai Super Kings has a strong line-up in the squad and according to former India Cricketer Irfan Pathan, they have more than one combination already prepared and their playing XI is sorted. They are one of the teams that the others will fear because of the balanced side they have in all three departments.

The Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL five times; 2010,2011,2018,2021 and 2023. They defeated Mumbai Indians in 2010, Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011, Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021, and Gujarat Titans in 2023. CSK has also reached the finals of the IPL 10 times and have won five times. They have been beaten by Mumbai Indians four out of five times in the finals they have played against them.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is expected to commence during the third week of March and will conclude during the last week of May. The highly anticipated T20 league will be followed by the T20 megaevent that is the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which will be hosted jointly by the West Indies and the United States of America. Chennai Super Kings will be hoping to win the title again to give a memorable farewell to MS Dhoni who has been the most successful captain in the league and has won the title five times already.
