Former Team India player Aakash Chopra figured that two releases of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are certainly on the cards. In any case, according to the veteran, the progressions won’t come now and it will require somewhere around five years to prove.
Throughout the long term, the money-rich T20 competition has gone through a lot of changes. Before the 2022 release of the competition, two new sides, Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Lucknow Super Giants (GT) were added.
Aakash Chopra Feels Two IPLs In A Year Will Happen Soon
Aakash Chopra, who played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during his career, sounded certain the BCCI might ponder introducing two releases of the IPL following a couple of years.
“When you talk about this, then you feel if two IPLs are required. It does not matter whether it is required or not. Will it happen or won’t happen? That is the big question and I feel it will happen,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his official YouTube channel.
“It will not happen now, it will not happen in this rights cycle, it will not happen in the next five years, but it will happen in the five years after that.
“It will 100% happen, there will be a big IPL, where there will be 94 matches, and one small IPL which will be over in one month, where all teams will play each other maybe once,” he added.
Gujarat Titans Champions Of IPL 2022
The Titans, drove by Hardik Pandya, are the ongoing heroes of the IPL after they crushed the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat wasn’t considered among the title challengers in front of the beginning of the Indian Premier League 2022 auction yet they astounded everybody by going as far as possible in the competition. Most probably, the side will have extra tension on its shoulders next season when they will show up for the tournament as “champions”.
