Brisbane Heat lost to Sydney Sixers to make it to the challenger match while Adelaide Strikers defeated Perth Scorchers to keep themselves alive in the tournament.
Perth Scorchers who were the defending champions of the BBL having won the title in the last two seasons lost to the Adelaide Strikers in the Knockout game. The Strikers batting first scored 155/7 in their 20 overs.
Jake Weatherald’s fifty and useful knocks from Ben Manenti and Henry Thornton helped the Strikers post 155/7 after they had slipped to 95/6 at one stage. The Strikers struggled in the first half of their innings, unable to press on with the scoring, exacerbated by regular fall of wickets. Despite Jake Weatherald trying to keep the scoreboard ticking, the strikers could only get to 52/4 in 10 overs.
The Scorchers’ chase was derailed by the Striker’s bowler. The two Strikers spinners Lloyd Pope and Cameron Boyce accounted for seven wickets in total. As many as eight Scorcjers batters were dismissed for single-digit scores.
Sam Fanning and Cooper Connolly scored 31 each for the Strikers. Josh Inglis, the keeper scored 12 which was the next-best score in the innings for Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers were down to 17/7 at one point but Connolly’s 31-run innings ensured that they went past the 100-run mark.

The Sydney Sixers after their win over Brisbane Heat have confirmed their spot in the final. The Sixers scored 152/8 in their 20 overs on the back of skipper Moises Henriques’ 59 off 50 balls. Daniel Hughes scored 42 up at the top. Michael Neser took three for 27 with the ball, while Spencer Johnson and Paul Walter took two each.
The Brisbane Heat in their innings was bowled out for 113 in the chase. Ben Dwarshuis picked up 5/21 with the ball as the Heat innings went in disarray. Jimmy Peirson’s 26 was the best score of the innings for the Heat. They lost wickets at regular intervals and ultimately fell short by 39 runs.
