The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), on Monday (February 19), announced that Nepal will be visiting India next month to play a T20 tri-series against Baroda and Gujarat. The series will take place in Vapi.

The series will take place from March 31 to April 7. A total of seven games will be played in the T20 tri-series with each team playing the other two twice. After the league stage, the top two teams will qualify for the final and lock horns against each other for the title. All the games will begin at 1:00 PM (IST).

Nepal and Gujarat will be up against each other in the first game of the tri-series. On April 1, Gujarat will play against Baroda before the latter will take on the tourists on April 2. Nepal’s final league game is scheduled to take place against Baroda on April 5.

The series will be a big opportunity for the Nepali cricketers to prepare for this year’s ICC T20 World Cup. They will be appearing in the tournament for just the second time and the first time since 2014. Nepal are in Pool D with South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played in June this year in the Caribbeans and the United States of America. A total of 20 teams will be featured in the marquee event. The 20 teams have been divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8s.
