It Was My Dream To Play For India In Front Of Him – Sarfaraz Khan
Before the Rajkot Test commenced, Sarfaraz Khan received his debut cap from the legendary Anil Kumble. Sarfaraz’s father and wife, witnessing the occasion, were moved to tears as Sarfaraz embraced the significance of the moment in his cricketing journey.
Following the conclusion of the opening day’s play, Sarfaraz Khan described the moment as “amazing,” particularly cherishing his father’s presence during the cap presentation. He revealed that playing for India in front of his father was a lifelong dream fulfilled.
“Bahut accha laga (it was amazing), my father was here when I received the cap. It was my dream to play for India in front of him. My father wasn’t coming to ground initially. But some people requested him and he came to witness this special moment. I feel some burden is off my shoulders now that I haven’t let my father’s efforts go waste,” Sarfaraz said.
Sarfaraz Khan replaced Shreyas Iyer in the playing XI during the third Test match against England. The right-handed batter scored a blistering half-century in his first innings. However, his innings ended in an unfortunate manner after a mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja.
