Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal were involved in a mix-up that could’ve resulted in a runout during the third Test between India and England. Sarfaraz Khan drove the ball towards the extra cover region and was asking for a two which Yashasvi Jaiswal denied and Sarfaraz had to turn back towards the non-striker’s end. The third Test between India and England is being played at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot and Indian batters have put up a show in the third Test.
It was a tense moment for both players as both of them were reaching their milestone. Sarfaraz was nearing his fifty and Jaiswal was reaching his double century. The denial made Sarfaraz livid with the youngster and Rohit Sharma also gave an angry reaction from the dressing room. However, both of them reached their milestone soon after the incident. Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal both added 172 runs for the fifth wicket where Jaiswal contributed 99 and Sarfaraz Khan contributed 68.
Sarfaraz Khan was unhappy with Yashasvi Jaiswal because the latter denied an easy couple of runs after Sarfaraz drove the ball towards deep extra cover and called a two. Sarfaraz was almost half the way but had to return to the non-striker’s end. Sarfaraz was also run out in the first innings because of a mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja who was nearing his 100. He was livid with Jaiswal who denied the double as he was reaching his 200 and did not want to take a risk at this stage.
Sarfaraz Khan smashed his second half-century while Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his second double-century in the match and both of them were magnificent in the second innings for India. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 214 off 236 deliveries which included 14 boundaries and 12 sixes and Sarfaraz Khan scored 68 off 72 deliveries which included six fours and three sixes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has smashed 22 sixes in this series as of now and has also equalled the record for most sixes in an innings in Test cricket as he smoked 12 maximums. He shares this record with former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram who smashed 12 sixes against Zimbabwe in a Test match. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan has become the fourth Indian to score 50+ in both innings on debut.
Rohit Sharma called them in declaring the innings as India reached 430/4 in 98 overs. Now England needs to chase 557 runs to win the Test match against India which is a huge ask. India is most likely to win the third Test and take a lead in the series. They lost the first Test against England in Hyderabad by 28 runs and then made a sensational comeback in Vizag to win the second Test by 106 runs.
India has not lost a Test series at home since the 2012 Test series against England where Sir Alastair Cook led the England team to a 2-1 victory against India. The hosts have won 16 consecutive Test series at home and are looking to make it 17 by beating England in the ongoing five-match series. The remaining two Test matches will be played in Ranchi and Dharamsala respectively.
