Australia have beaten West Indies in the first two ODIs comfortably They won the first ODI by 8 wickets and the second by 89 runs. Australia had a clinical performance in the second ODI scoring 258/9 from a position of 91/5 in Sydney. The turnaround was first started by Sean Abbott who scored 69 off 63 balls. He got company from Matthew Short (41), Marnus Labuschagne (276), Aaron Hardie (26) and debutant Will Sutherland (18).
West Indies were bowled out for 175 with Keacy Carty top-scoring with 40. Skipper Shai Hope scored 12 and 29 in the first two games. Roston Chase (25) scored the third-highest run. Six batters were dismissed for single-digit scores. Hazlewood and Abbott picked up three wickets each. Will Sutherland picked up one wicket while Hardie and Zampa took one each.
Australia will miss Matthew Short in the third ODI. He top-scored with 41 in the AUS vs WI second ODI. He is ruled out with a hamstring injury. Australia will also miss Josh Hazlewood in the second ODI. He will return for the T20Is. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are rested for the ODI and T20I series against West Indies.

West Indies do not have their experienced players who are busy playing T20 leagues around the world. Their ODI side is missing Nicholas Pooran, Jason Holder, Rovman Powell, and a certain Andre Russell and Sunil Narine who have not been a part of the ODI side for a few years now.
The two teams have played 148 ODIs with the Aussies winning 78 matches and West Indies 61. In 19 T20Is, Australia have won 9 games while West Indies 10. In 120 Test matches between the two sides, Australia have won 61 matches and West Indies 33.
