ToggleThe PAK vs NZ fourth T20I will be played in Christchurch on Friday, January 19. The match starts from 11.40 am IST with Pakistan looking to save their face and avoid a clean sweep. They lost the first three games to concede the series to New Zealand.
Pakistan hasn’t won a T20I series since playing the T20 World Cup final in 2022. They have lost the series to Australia, England, and even Afghanistan. They now have conceded yet another T20I series under Shaheen Afridi their new T20I skipper.
Pakistan were blown away in the PAKvs NZ third T20I by the single-handed assault by Finn Allen. Allen hit 16 sixes and five fours in his innings, equalling the world record set by Afghanistan batter Hazratullah Zazai against Ireland in 2019.
The Black Caps posted a formidable total of 224/7 in 20 overs in Dunedin on Wednesday, January 17. Finn Allen scored 137 runs off 62 deliveries, including five boundaries and 16 sixes. In response, the New Zealand bowlers restricted the opposition to a score of 179/7.

None of the Pakistan bowlers have bowled well in the series, especially their skipper. In the three games, he has conceded 119 runs at an average of 29.75. Hairs Raug has conceded 134 runs at an average of 18.86. Thus the two most experienced T20I bowlers of Pakistan have been taken to the cleaners.
The Men in Green will need to rotate their bowlers around looking for a crucial win. Mohammad Nawazwho did not play in the first two games went for 44 runs in his spell picking up one wicket. Shadad Khan’s absence from the side is proving costly as the Men in Green lack good spin options.
New Zealand are without Kane Williamson who was ruled out of the last three games due to a hamstring injury. Mitchell Santner led in his absence in the third T20I and will lead in the final two games as well. Lockie Ferguson returned in the third T20I and picked up 1/27.
Will Young, who was with the squad for the first two games, will remain with the team for the last three games as well. Tim Seifert took over wicketkeeping duties from Devon Conway and will replace Williamson in the side. Ferguson returned with good figures while Tim Southee continued to show his experience with the ball as everything fell into place for the Kiwis.
