Keshav Maharaj didn’t get a chance to bowl in the second Test. The match was dominated by the pacers as they took all the wickets. The spinner didn’t play the first game and was expected to make an impact in the second game.

But with the kind of pitch that was there in Cape Town, he wasn’t needed at all. The pitch was a nightmare for the batters but the fast bowlers would’ve enjoyed bowling on the surface, which saw the game ending in just 4 and a half sessions.

It was the shortest Test match in the history of the game as it lasted for just 642 balls. The Day 1 of the game saw as many as 23 wickets falling and all to pacers. South Africa were all out for just 55 runs in their first innings and after that India too had a torrid outing.

The visitors got out for just 153 runs, taking a lead of 98 runs. In the second innings, South Africa came up with a better performance but couldn’t go past 200 runs as they were bundled out for 176 runs, setting India a target of 79 runs.
