Mohammad Haris

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not issued the NOC to Mohammad Haris who traveled to Dhaka to feature in the Bangladesh Premier League and as a result, he had to come back to his hometown in Peshawar without playing a single match in the BPL. Mohammad Haris was set to play for the Chattogram Challengers but PCB declined the NOC and now he can’t feature in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The main issue is not the NOC but the fact that it was announced to be not granted after Mohammad Haris reached Dhaka. It could have been taken earlier and that would have saved Haris from the travelling exertion. Mohammad Haris was the captain of the Pakistan A team which won the ACC Emerging Asia Cup held in July 2023. Pakistan A defeated India A in the finals to win the ACC Emerging Asia Cup title.

He has played nine T20Is and six ODIs for Pakistan and has not impressed with his performances in the international circuit. The reason for PCB not issuing the NOC is unknown but it shows that something is wrong with the Pakistan Cricket Board. Recently, Zaka Ashraf resigned as the chairman of the PCB and now these constant issues keep arising within the board.

Mohammad Haris put an Instagram story with a picture of his baggage after he returned to Peshawar from Dhaka without playing a single game in the Bangladesh Premier League. He has played 66 T20 matches in his career and has amassed 1516 runs in 64 innings at an average of 24.45 and a strike rate of 146.61. He has also smashed nine half-centuries in T20s none of which has come for Pakistan. He was earlier replaced by Azam Khan in the Pakistan squad for the series against New Zealand where the Men in Green were thrashed 4-1.

Mohammad Haris’ Instagram Story After He Returns To Peshawar

As per reports, Haris has already played 2 leagues since July and according to new PCB policies regarding NOCs he won’t be granted NOC for BPL. Also, the batter flew to Bangladesh without having NOC issued on his name.

Pakistan recently faced a crushing defeat in the T20I series against New Zealand and before that was whitewashed by Australia in the three-match Test series. The new era of Pakistan cricket started with an eclipse and they are struggling to find their form back in all formats. The Men in Green won’t play any international cricket now till May 2024 as the players will be busy playing in the Pakistan Super League which commences on February 17.

Pakistan will face England in a four-match T20I series in May 2024 ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and will hope to regain their best form before the start of the global T20 event set to commence on June 1 and to be hosted by the West Indies and the USA jointly.
