Pakistan Wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan hilariously mocks IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) while on the sidelines of the ILT20. Azam Khan plays for Desert Vipers in the ILT20, a team with the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Colin Munro, and Wanindu Hasaranga playing for them. The team is star-studded just like RCB and also has a few similarities with the IPL franchise.
Azam Khan could not stop himself from trolling RCB for a trophyless history as the Bengaluru-based franchise has not won a trophy since they started in the inaugural IPL season of 2008.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have reached the IPL finals three times but have failed to win the trophy in each of the three times. They reached the IPL finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016 and suffered defeats against Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

Azam Khan brutally trolled RCB for being trophyless after the interviewer asked him about the similarities between his ILT20 franchise Desert Vipers and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Desert Vipers were promoting sustainability by wearing a green jersey and the interviewer told Azam Khan about another team that promotes greenery through their ‘Go Green’ initiative by wearing a green jersey for one of their home games.
The interviewer talked about how RCB have a set of star players which are Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and many more whereas Desert Vipers have their own set of star players.
While drawing comparisons between the two franchises, the interviewer asked Azam Khan whether they talked about such comparisons in the team. To which Azam Khan replied, “Haa Star Players hain aur hum bhi abhi tak trophy nahi jeete (Yes we both have star players and we haven’t won a trophy yet).”

Desert Vipers are currently fifth on the ILT20 points table and the chances of their qualifications are looking meek. The Vipers have won only three games out of eight and have six points in the league. They are looking to win the remaining two games and even then they will need the help of other teams to qualify for the playoffs in the ILT20.
It is just like RCB in the past when they were not reaching the playoffs and were dependent on other matches’ results to qualify for the playoffs. However, the Bengaluru-based franchise has qualified in three out of the last four seasons.
The IPL 2024 is expected to commence during the third week of March and will go on till the last week of May. Royal Challengers Bangalore has a strong line-up this time and will look to win their maiden IPL trophy.
The likes of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis will be leading the side in pairs and will most probably open the batting for the team in the IPL. Virat Kohli is the highest run-getter in IPL with more than 7000 runs to his name.
