Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Dinesh Karthik achieved a forgettable record to his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The keeper-batter has become the batter with the most ducks in the history of the league.
Dinesh Karthik achieved the feat in the ongoing 70th game of the IPL 2023 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Asked to bat first, after RCB lost wickets at regular intervals, Karthik was expected to play a crucial role.

But he failed yet again failed and was back in the hut without troubling the scorers. Dinesh Karthik failed to dispatch the short ball from Yash Dayal and ended up giving a catch to keeper Wriddhiman Saha. He bagged his 4th duck this season and it’s fair to say that he might not end up playing for the team next season, considering his age and performances this season.

Dinesh Karthik now has the most ducks in IPL. He is followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma who has 16 ducks to his name. Sunil Narine is too on the list along with Mandeep Singh and Ambati Rayudu.
