ToggleIPL Media Rights Auction Live 2022 Streaming, Date, Live Streaming Channel, Telecast, And All You Need To Know. The IPL media rights E-Auction will be held on June 12 in Mumbai from 11 am IST. The event might go on for more than one day until the final winner is decided. The biggest media houses in the country will be fighting to earn the right to broadcast the world’s richest cricket league on their platform.
The contract of Star, the previous broadcasters of the cash-rich league came to an end after IPL 2022. The winner among the current bidders will win the rights to broadcast the IPL for a five-year deal between 2023-2027.
Categories Of The Bidding Process
The bidding process has been divided into four categories, the details of which are given below.
Package A- India’s Television Rights
This is an exclusive bracket for getting the broadcasting rights within the Indian sub-continent only.
Package B- India’s Digital Rights
This includes winning the digital rights of the entire Indian subcontinent. The winner will be able to digitally broadcast the games across the Indian sub-continent.
Package C- Special Digital space For Selected Games
This is a separate digital space created to broadcast special 18 games. This includes the final, the playoff matches, the tournament opener, and a few evening weekend games. In a 74-match season, 18 special games will be broadcasted. However, if the number increased o 84 or 94, the number of matches will go up to 20 or 22 respectively.
Package D- Overseas Television and Digital Rights
This is a combined category of television and digital rights. The eights will be divided into two countries and they can either include the entire world or the five separate regions.
How Will The Bidding Process Be Conducted
The Bidders will have to make separate bids for each package. They will have the control of pulling out from the bidding process if they want to after a certain length of time. This is different from the 2017 auction where there was a process of closed bidding. This process may take time and the eventual winner’s name might not be revealed instantly.
Base Price For Separate Packages
Package A is worth Rs. 49 crore per match.
Package B is worth Rs. 33 crore per match.
Package C is worth Rs 11 crore per match.
Package D is worth Rs. 3 crore per match.

Who Won It Last Time?
Star Sports won the bidding rights of the IPL between the 2018 to 2022 cycle after they paid Rs. 16347 crores for the rights for both TV and digital spaces. This time, the BCCI is expecting to value to at least double itself at 32890 crores.
