Steve Smith has been a crucial member of the Australian team in all three formats for the last few years. Smith is considered a powerful batter in Tests and ODIs. However, due to his poor strike rate, he is often dubbed unsuitable for the shortest format.

Notably, Steve Smith is the vice-captain of Australia in Tests and ODIs. In the recent ODI series against West Indies, the right-handed batter led the side in the absence of captain Pat Cummins.
