ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 or the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in June this year. The tournament will be the ninth edition of the cricket T20 World Cup. It is scheduled to be hosted by the West Indies and the United States of America.
The first edition of the T20 World Cup was played in South Africa in 2007 while the last edition took place in Australia in 2022. England and West Indies are the most successful side in the history of the tournament, having won the competition twice. West Indies became the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice in 2016 before England equaled their record in 2022. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia have won the tournament once so far.
ICC T20 World Cup Teams 2024
A total of 20 teams will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, 4 more than the number of teams that participated in the last edition. West Indies and the United States of America qualified as the hosts while Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka booked their spots after finishing in the top eight of the last T20 World Cup.
The remaining two automatic qualification places were taken by the best-ranked teams in the ICC Men’s T20 Team Rankings. The other eight spots were taken by the teams through regional qualifiers.

ICC T20 World Cup Format 2024
The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will have a new format. As per the new format, the 20 teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 round. In the Super 8s, the eight teams will be further divided into two groups of four and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: FAQs
The T20 World Cup 2024 will start in June.
As per the new format, the T20 World Cup 2024 will have 20 teams. The teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each. The top top teams from each group will make it to the Super 8 before the teams are once again divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will then qualify for the semifinals.
The next T20 cricket World Cup will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America.
India are yet to confirm their captain for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. Reports, however, suggest that Rohit Sharma could be given the captaincy for the event.
West Indies and England have the most T20 World Cup titles. Both of them have won the tournament twice so far.
