Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani cricket captain, and broadcaster, has slammed speculations of a feud between Indian batsmen MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. Akram emphasized that false news is frequent and that people should not accept everything they read.

A video of an animated conversation between Dhoni and Jadeja went viral on social media following Chennai Super Kings (CSK) victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) in a league stage match of IPL 2023, feeding suspicions that things were not going well between the two famous cricketers.

However, after scoring the victorious runs in the IPL 2023 championship match against Gujarat Titans (GT), Jadeja dedicated CSK’s victory to Dhoni. After the team’s exciting last-ball victory, the Chennai captain even lifted the all-rounder in an emotional moment.

During a discussion on Sportskeeda, Akram trashed all rift rumors and commented: “In today’s age of social media, someone sits at home, writes news and it becomes viral. I don’t know how many years Jadeja has been playing for CSK. Dhoni has been backing and giving him confidence. He has been captaining Jadeja for so many years. Why will Jadeja have a rift with him?

“Knowing Dhoni, if he has a problem, he will speak to Jadeja and sort things out. Jadeja also admitted that the backing of his captain was behind his performances. This is called leading from the front. Both of them deserve praise” Wasim Akram added.

Shubman Gill is a future superstar of world cricket- Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram, a renowned bowler and former captain of the Pakistani cricket team, has lavished Shubman Gill with praise. Akram compared Gill to cricket great Sachin Tendulkar, saying that Gill’s control and precision evoke the same sense of batting mastery that Tendulkar embodied throughout his illustrious career.

“As a bowler, if I am bowling to Gill in the T20 format, it’s like bowling to Sachin Tendulkar in one-day cricket in the first 10 or 15 overs [with the field restrictions in place]. If I was bowling to [Sanath] Jayasuriya and [Romesh] Kaluwitharana, I know I have a chance of getting them out because they try to go after every ball. Players like Sachin and Gill play proper cricketing shots” Wasim Akram said.

“In the current generation, Gill is someone who will score in all three formats and consistently. He is a future superstar of world cricket” Wasim Akram added.
