IPL 2024: Best Playing XI Of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was the most active franchise in the IPL 2024 auction. They added six players with a remaining purse of 34 crores having spent 20 crores on Pat Cummins. They also managed to add a few other players like Travis Head, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Travis Head to name a few.

SRH finished last in the IPL 2023 points table and were keen on adding quality players to their side looking to overhaul their XI. They now have a good mix of international players and are spoilt for choices in choosing their strongest XI.

They have added Pat Cummins and the SRH coach Daniel Vettori who is also the Assistant coach of the Australian cricket team hinted at making Cummins the leader of the franchise. It was Aiden Markram who led the side in the previous season and Cummins being a World Cup-winning skipper and the newest addition to the side has the backing of Daniel Vettori to possibly lead the side.

SRH finished last in IPL 2023 and thus was keen on adding a few renowned names in cricket hence the addition of Cummins and Wanidu Hasaranga who is a straight swap for Adil Rashid whom they released. In this article, we predict SRH’s strongest possible XI ahead of IPL 2024.

Head will open the batting for SRH. He played for RCB in IPL 2016 and 2017 and is making a comeback into the IPL after six long years. The Southpaw had a good 2023 playing some match-winning knocks for Australia.

Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek will open the batting. He had a good season in IPL 2022 scoring 426 runs in 14 league games. In IPL 2023 he scored 226 runs in 11 matches and was shuffled up and down the order.

Rahul Tripathi

Tripathi will slot in at three. He was released by KKR in IPL 2022 and was picked up by SRH. He has scored over 600 runs for the franchise since joining them in 2022. He has been a big plus for the side.

Aiden Markram

Markram will slot in at four. He led the side in IPL 2022 when they finished 10th on the table. He also leads the Sunrisers franchise in SA20. It will be interesting to see if he leads the side this season as well.

Heinrich Klaasen (WK)

Klaasen will bat at five. The South African keeper-batsman made his presence felt in the last season scoring 448 runs in 12 matches. He should play all the matches this season as the first-choice keeper for the side.

Abdul Samad

Samad can slot in at six. The Jammu cricketer was retained ahead of IPL 2024 as the franchise trusted his big-hitting skills. He played a few cameos last season but should make the most of this season.

Washington Sundar

Sundar can bat at seven as the specialist spinner. he is a handy batter lower down the order as well and someone who can bowl inside the powerplay as well. The offie has not played much for India in the last year.

Pat Cummins

Cummins can bat at eight. He is likely to lead the side as well. The Australian skipper has had a memorable year as captain 2023 and SRH might just back his leadership skills looking for their second IPL title.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvi will be the first of the two Indian pacers in the XI. He has been a legend for SRH picking up 146 wickets for the franchise in the last decade. The veteran pacer has not played for India since the T20 World Cup. Bhuvi picked up 16 wickets last season.

T Natarajan

Natarajan might be picked ahead of Umran Malik because of his left-arm attribute as a pacer and his ability to bowl pinpoint yorkers. Nattu picked up 10 wickets from 12 games last season.

Mayank Markande

Markande concludes with the strongest possible XI for SRH. He impressed in the last season taking 12 wickets from 10 matches. He made his T20I debut for India back in the 2018-19 season.

Impact Sub-Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal might be used as the impact sub. He led the franchise a few times last season as well but did not have a good year with the bat. Using him as an impact sub might help him express himself with the bat. Agarwal is out of out of the national team as well.
