New Zealand Squad for T20 World Cup 2024
Openers- Devon Conway, Finn Allen
For openers, Devon Conway and Finn Allen will be two options for the T20 World Cup 2024 squad for New Zealand. Conway will also be a wicketkeeper in the squad. Conway struggled to score runs in T20Is last year.
In 6 games, he could only score 78 runs. The left-handed batter slammed a half-century in one match. Conway has been a powerful option for openers for the last few years across all formats.
Finn Allen showed a brilliant form in T20Is last year. In 10 games, he mustered 312 runs at a strike rate of 136+. Allen shattered a superb knock of 83 runs in one game. Allen is also part of the ongoing T20I series against Pakistan. Hence, Conway and Allen should be the openers in the New Zealand squad for T20 World Cup 2024.

Middle-Order- Kane Williamson (C), Daryl Michell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman
Kane Williamson will lead New Zealand in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Last year, Williamson missed a lot of games due to injury. However, he gave his best show in the few matches he played for the team. He also played a few games in the ODI World Cup. He is the powerful batter at the one-down position for Kiwis.
Daryl Mitchell is another powerful middle-order batter for New Zealand and he will be part of the T20 World Cup squad. Mitchell showed wonderful form in India during the ICC World Cup 2023, where he finished as the highest run-getter for the team. The right-handed batsman was also impressive in the shortest format in 2023, smacking 316 runs in 18 games with 2 fifties.
With his hard-hitting batting style, Glenn Phillips is another strong middle-order batter for New Zealand. He played 10 T20Is last year and hit 208 runs at a 120+ strike rate. He also slammed one half-century.
Mark Chapman will be a good choice for a lower-order batsman. Chapman is a destructive batter who can smack a lot of runs in the death. This makes him an outstanding batter for the lower order.
Last year, Chapman was a stand-out batter for New Zealand. With 576 runs in 21 T20I games, he was the leading run-getter for the team. The left-handed batsman also shattered 1 ton and 4 fifties.

Wicket-keepers- Devon Conway & Tim Seifert
Other than Devon Conway, Tim Seifert will be another good choice for New Zealand in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Seifert showcased a wonderful form in T20Is last year, smacking 401 runs in 13 games with 3 half-centuries. Averaging 33+, he was the second-highest run-getter for the team in 2023. These 2 players can qualify as wicketkeepers for the New Zealand squad for T20 World Cup 2024.
All-Rounders- Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, James Neesham
Among all-rounders, New Zealand will go ahead with Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, and James Neesham. While Santner and Ravindra are spin all-rounders, Neesham is a pace all-rounder.
Left-arm spinner Santner hunted 16 scalps in 13 games last year. He was the leading wicket-taker for the team in the 20-over format. Neesham picked 11 wickets in 12 games including 212 runs which he slammed with the bat.
Ravindra is a powerful middle-order batsman who can also deliver some overs. He hunted 5 wickets in T20Is last year. The left-handed batsman showed a marvelous performance in the ODI World Cup last year.

Spinners- Ish Sodhi
Ish Sodhi was a highly successful bowler for New Zealand last year. The right-arm spinner picked 15 wickets in 17 games to finish as the second-highest wicket-taker for the team. He also held a superb economy of just 7.51. Sodhi is the most powerful spinner for Kiwis currently and will be part of the T20 World Cup squad. Hence, Ish Sodhi could be the only spinner to make it to the New Zealand squad for T20 World Cup 2024.

Pacers- Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, Trent Boult, Tim Southee
For pacers, New Zealand can go ahead with Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne as the first two names. Right-arm pacer Adan Milne was the most successful pacer for the team in T20Is last year. He grabbed 14 scalps in 12 games at 8.71 economy. He also hunted a 5-wicket haul in one match.
Ferguson played just 5 T20I games last year and picked 3 wickets. The right-arm speedster played 18 ODI games and hunted 18 wickets at 5.82 economy. Due to injury, Ferguson could not play enough games in the ODI World Cup. However, he will aim for an impressive show in the T20 World Cup this year.
Trent Boult is not part of New Zealand’s central contract. However, he always makes a comeback in ICC tournaments. Hence, he will be called at the time of the World Cup later this year. The left-arm pacer played 15 ODI matches last year and clinched 24 wickets at an average of 27.58.
Southee is another experienced pacer for Kiwis. In 10 T20I matches last year, Southee hunted 13 scalps at a 20.30 average and 7.72 economy. The right-arm seamer was also impressive in ODIs last year, grabbing 17 wickets in 10 games at 7+ economy.
