South Africa’s Premier T20 Cricket League SA20-2024
SA20 is a T20 franchise cricket tournament in South Africa. It is organised by Cricket South Africa and is the biggest franchise tournament of the country. A total of six city-based teams participate in the SA20 league. The first edition of the competition was held in 2022–23 season. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the first edition of the SA20 cricket league. The second edition is scheduled to be played from January 10 to February 10, 2024.
SA20 Teams:
All the six teams of SA20 are owned by IPL franchises. The six teams are based in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Paarl, Pretoria and Gqeberha. The RPSG Group, owner of the Lucknow Super Giants, owns the Durban-based franchise while Chennai Super Kings owners India Cements own the Johannesburg-based franchise.
Mumbai Indians’ Indiawin Sports owns the Cape Town-based team while Rajasthan Royals’ Royals Sports Group is the owner of the Paarl-based franchise. The Pretoria-based outfit is owned by Delhi Capitals‘ owners JSW Group while Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Sun Group owns the Gqeberha-based team.

SA20 Season result:
So far, only one edition of the SA20 has taken place. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the inaugural edition by beating Pretoria Capitals in the final. Paarl Royals and Joburg Super Kings also made it to the semifinal while MI Cape Town and Durban’s Super Giants finished at the fifth and sixth spot respectively.
